Scouts

History
Robert Baden-Powell started the Scouting movement in 1907 in United Kingdom.  Scouting was first introduced in Singapore in 1908 but was officially inaugurated in 1910. The Scouts Movement (Scouting in Singapore) was inaugurated on 2 July 1910. Since then, the movement has expanded to various parts of Singapore including Primary schools, Secondary schools and Tertiary institutions.  In Xingnan Primary School, Scouting includes both boys and girls.
 
The Mission of Scouting
The mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.

Activities and Highlights: 
Weekly meetings:  Tent making, proficiency badges trainings, knotting trainings, basic first aid activities, outdoor cooking, foot drill and commands, team building activities, games, educational movie screening etc)
 
Outdoor Activities:
Campfires, camping, nature reserve hiking, community services (school and neighbourhood),National Day Observance Ceremonies and overseas trips etc

Day and Time:
Wednesday 3.45 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Venue:
Classroom 2H (4303)
