Edusave Character Award (ECHA)

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has introduced the Edusave Character Award (ECHA) in 2012 to recognise students who demonstrate exemplary character and outstanding personal qualities through their behaviour and actions.

ECHA awardees must satisfy the following eligibility criteria :

a)    Awardees must be Singaporeans studying in government/ government-aided primary or secondary schools, independent schools, specialised independent schools, specialised schools or junior colleges/ centralised institute (JC/CI); and

b)    Awardees must, on a consistent basis, demonstrate good character relating to the schools core values.

 The selection process is as follows :

i)       Nomination (from 27 August 2018 to 14 September 2018

Nomination Form (Form A) can be submitted by students, teachers and other key stakeholders (including parents) who interact with the students. Only nominees who are Singaporeans and have good conduct would be shortlisted for the next selection round.    

 ii)     Shortlisting (by 5 October 2018) 

The shortlisting of nominees will be conducted by school staff. Shortlisted nominees will be required to attend a group interview. These nominees will be notified of the results of the shortlisting round by 5 October 2018.   

 iii)    Group Interview (31 October 2018 to 2 November 2018) 

The shortlisted ECHA nominees will be interviewed by a panel before the final validation and endorsement. 

ECHA awardees will receive a certificate and an award voucher.

The values of the award are as follows:

  • $200 for Primary 1 to 3
  • $350 for Primary 4 to 6
